For the first time in 40 seasons of Survivor we have 3 tribes of 4 players each. There will not be a merge tonight, but is there enough tribal dynamics and action on the edge to make the wait for the merge more bearable? Time to break it down.

The Queen Sails Off

Parvati joins the Edge of Extinction crew and laments the fact that she was voted out pre-merge for the first time in her Survivor career, but then Sandra arrives and drops a few bombs of information. Her risky move with Denise was revealed and subsequently critiqued, and then after the process of the Edge of Extinction is brought up, she decides the struggle is not worth it. Sandra is resigned to her fate, citing their lack of success in challenges across her four seasons, and then raises the mast to signal her departure from the game. As much as I don’t blame Sandra as her logic is correct, it’s a shame she walked out. It would be weird to see everyone except Sandra there at Final Tribal Council. We can only imagine what her stint as juror would’ve been like.

Wendell Drama

Wendell’s attempts to do damage control goes much better with Yul than with Michele. When the two parties compare notes, Yul realizes that Michele may be a better long term ally than Wendell. I am shocked that Wendell’s reputation has sunk this low. In Ghost Island, Wendell seemed to be a calming force in his alliance, especially compared to Domenick Abbate who appeared to me the more aggressive player…
