11 winners made it to the merge. This is a point of the game where players and fans alike look forward to as the end begins to appear in sight. It’s no holds barred time now, every player for themselves.

Edging It Out

Natalie says she is using one of her fire tokens on an advantage, and Amber gives Rob her token so Rob can have an advantage as well. Both Natalie and Rob use their remaining tokens to purchase an idol should they re-enter the game.. This sets the stage for what can surely be an epic return challenge. But first, some shocked reactions to seeing Yul voted out and Adam commenting on the Old School Annihilation. Jeff Probst then officially announces the merge. As the players are introduced for the Edge of Extinction challenge, Sandra is revealed to have left the Edge of Extinction.

Natalie, Tyson, and Boston Rob share their emotional trials from their time on the Edge of Extinction, showing rare signs of vulnerability across the board from a selection of strong players. Rob also echoes the thoughts of many fans felt about the pre-merge and how several of the old schoolers never got a strong footing in the game. Amber, Parvati, and Yul are the only players not to have an advantage (due to their lack of fire tokens, in Amber’s case a consequence of giving hers to Rob) meaning they have an extra section of the challenge (the digging portion) to complete. They feel the toll when they have to dig very deep to get the string to complete the next part…
